FAQ
You can find us in Burpengary East, Queensland. This is where I do all the work but I live in Narangba so pickups can be arranged from my home if needed.
I know this doesn’t mean much to many people but the orientation of the wood grain in a cutting board changes the board quite considerably.
I have written a full article on the differences between the grain orientations here: Edge Grain vs End Grain
To put it very simply,
- Face grain is cheap and mass produced.
- Edge grain is a nicer premium product.
- End grain is a high end professional style cutting board.
I offer 2 ways to personalise my products. Laser engraving and Wooden inlays.
I have written a detailed article on the differences between both methods here: Engraving vs Inlay
To keep it short,
- laser engraving uses a laser beam to burn the wood extremely accurately
- An inlay is made by cutting a perfectly sized hole in the pattern required and then cutting a matching plug out of a different coloured wood and gluing it in.
Laser engraving is easy and quick. Inlays are very time consuming but absolutely beautiful and leave you with a smooth surface.
I can accept cash or card.
